A Visit to The Temple of Heaven in Beijing

Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera.
Kay nak kongsikan pengalaman kali pertama melawat salah satu tempat bersejarah di Beijing.
Tapi ia bukan lah The Great Wall sebab kami tak berkesempatan untuk ke sana.
Kami melawat Temple of Heaven ni disebabkan ia berdekatan dengan Pearl Market. Setelah selesai urusan membeli belah, kami meluangkan masa untuk melawat Temple of Heaven sebelum pulang menaiaki teksi ke hotel. Kami kena naik teksi sebab banyak juga barang yang diborong..heheheh..
Sedikit info berkaitan The Temple of Heaven ialah..

  • The largest heaven worship architectural complex in the world.
  • Was built in th e18th year during the Reign of Emperor Yongle of Ming Dynasty (1420)
  • Was a sacred altar for emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties to offer sacrifies to Heaven and pray for bumper harvest
  • Ancient beliefs like "circular heaven, square earth", "blue heaven, yellow earth", and " supernal heaven, low earth" are all exquisitely and ingeniously reflected here.
Cerita banyak-banyak so please enjoy the pics.

The Hall Of Prayer For Good Harvests is one of Beijing's symolic construction, and is also the most famous temple in the world. Its excellence  does not only llie in its exquisite designs, but also attributes to the fact that its constructional structure represents ancient Chinese philosophy and astronomic knowledge. The Hall rests on a three-layered white marble round altar. The altar is about 5.2m in heights. The diameter id the top layer is 68m, the middle layer 80m, the bottom layer 91m. Each layer is surrounded by marble balustrade. The balustrade surrounding the top layer is adorned with a spiral dragon with its head emerging from the water face; the balustrade surrounding the middle layer has colums decorated with the paintings of a phoenix's head emerging from the water surface; the column of the bottom layer is adorned with patterns of clouds coming out of the water surface. Along the south-north direction there are three huge white marble steps with stone carvings. The top tier is engraved with patterns of dragon, the middle tier with the pattern of phoenix, and the bottom tier with the pattern of mountain, sea, and clouds. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest is 32m high., with three layers of eaves, all laid with dark blue glazed tiles, symbolizing the color of the heaven. The Hall is supported by 28 wooden column. The 4 central columns, called the " Dragon-Well Pillar", represent the four seasons. Surrounding these 4 columns, there are two rings, one inside the other, of the 12 columns each; the inner ring symbolizes the 12 months and the outer rings symbolizes the 12 divisions of the day and night; the pillars of the inner and outer rings together stands for the the 24 solar terns or the 24 divisions of the solar year in the traditional Chinese calendar. All the 28 columns symbolizes the 28 constellations. Added to the 8 pillars on the roof, the 36 columns in the total symbolizes the 36 Big Dippers, corresponding to the 72 Earth Devils of the Long Corridor. The fantastic design idea mirrors quite well the importance of agriculture to the ancient people.

Panoramic view of the Temple of Prayer for Good Harvest. Thanks to my Samsung ST66. But i think i am goona buy a new camera. Still thinking whether it is going to be a compact camera or bridge camera...heheheh

Yang ini ada penerang pasal Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests.

Kami keluar menggunakan East Heaven Gate. Itu kedai jual souvenir.

Walid angkat la senang..Cepat sikit.. Ummi dah penat ni..Kami nak pulang ke hotel..
Last but not least, sebelum keluar, ambil gambar kat The Seven-Star Stones. The Seven-Star Stones on the grassland in the south of Long Corridor is said to be an aerolite. It is said that during the Reign of Emperor Jiajing, when rebuilding the Geat Hall for Sacrificial Rituals (Daxiangdian), a Taoist said to the emperor that tha vacancy in the southeast of the hall went against the stability of imperial rule and  the continuity of the national fortunes, and also greatly threaten the emperor's longevity. He advised to use a store for suppressing. Emperor Jiajing believed firmly in Taoism and placed the Seven-Star Stones to suppressing the geomantic omen. When the Qing troops entered the frontier pass, another stone was added in the northeast of the Seven-Star Stones. The name stays the same but there are actually 8 huge stones.
